Ministry of Social Affairs Temporarily Suspends Two Cash Support Programs for 6 Days During KNY

PHNOM PENH: The Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation will temporarily suspend the cash program established during the Covid-19 pandemic to provide support for poor and vulnerable families, as well as the cash program for pregnant women and children under the age of two, for six days during the Khmer New Year, between 13-18 April 2022.

The announcement of the temporary suspension was made by the Ministry of Social Affairs on Tuesday, 12 April. The Ministry stated that the suspension over the holiday would not affect the beneficiaries, and the two programs would continue to be implemented as usual from 19 April onwards.

The announcement asks all relevant institutions and stakeholders, especially the beneficiaries, to be aware of the temporary suspension, and to continue cooperation to ensure that these programs will still run smoothly and successfully as planned, in accordance with the policy of the Royal Government of Cambodia to provide assistance to people in need, especially poor and vulnerable families, without leaving anyone behind.
